up FRICO Workshop 2008 in Heidelberg
Together with Hanna Seitz and Stefan Bundfuss I organized the 12th Workshop on Future Research in Combinatorial Optimization (FRICO) in September 2008 in Heidelberg. The aim of this annual event is to provide a forum for young researchers in the field of combinatorial optimization. Lecturers came from different parts of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

up HGS MathComp Annual Colloquium 2010 in Heidelberg
PDF slides of a talk I gave at the 2nd Annual Colloquium of the Heidelberg Graduate School HGS MathComp in November 2010 in Heidelberg. The slides contain hardly any text. They are simply a sequence of figures and overlay effects to illustrate the accompanying oral presentation. This is something I have wanted to try for a long time, although I wasn't sure how the audience would receive it. In the end, the experiment was successful and the talk was awarded the prize "Best Presentation".

In February 2014 I was invited by the Junior Research Group Combinatorial Image Analysis at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbrücken to present a talk about my paper Lifting and Separation Procedures for the Cut Polytope. up Competition entry for the Klaus Tschira Award for Comprehensive Science 2012
PDF with a popular scientific description of both the topic and the contribution of my PhD thesis. I submitted this document as competition entry for the Klaus Tschira Award for Comprehensive Science in 2012. Due to competition regulations, the entry had to be written in German and could not contain any figures.
